Reduce the appearance of wrinkles, remove blemishes, scars, sunspots and stretchmarks, tighten and rejuvenate your skin with the medical power of light.
Laser treatments are highly effective anti-aging procedures that can be used to correct mild to severe skin problems ranging from dark spots to deep wrinkles. In addition, applications can remove anal tags and hemorrhoids with minimal pain.
Our cosmetic laser services include:
Non-ablative Skin Rejuvenation & Tightening
(Face, Neck, Lips and Body)
Non-ablative skin rejuvenation and tightening goes deep into the epidermis of the skin and stimulates the production of collagen, a protein that's found in connective tissue. Collagen causes the skin to plump up, and as it does, the collagen helps soften wrinkles and lines. The result is firmer, smoother, suppler and younger-looking skin. Because non-ablative skin rejuvenation is performed within the skin rather than on its surface, there is minimal discomfort and a delayed 12 to 72 exfoliation effect that can last for a few days.
Laser Skin Resurfacing
Laser skin resurfacing can dramatically decrease the appearance of fine lines, deeper wrinkles, scars, sunspots, stretchmarks, and even get rid of unwanted lesions like hemorrhoids and anal tags.
By gently vaporizing micron-thin layers of the skin, the laser thermally affects deeper skin layers to further stimulate collagen production resulting in the regeneration of skin and in turn a smoother more youthful appearance.
Laser skin resurfacing can dramatically decrease the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, scars, and much more.
Laser Treatment for Snoring and Sleep Apnea
Snoring and Sleep Apnea is an unpleasant reality of life that affects both men and women, resulting in poor sleep for both the sufferer and their sleep partner. But now there is a new leading edge laser procedure that can effectively treat snoring and sleep apnea. This non-invasive treatment utilizes laser technology to tighten soft tissues in the back of the throat and keep airways open. The procedure is short, painless and you can resume your daily routine immediately afterwards. Sleep soundly throughout the night and say goodbye to snoring today.
AND NOW! Our NEW Laser... ND Yag!
We are excited to announce that we are adding a Fotona ND-Yag laser to our practice. In combination with our Fotona Erbium laser we are now in a position to offer almost any laser treatment you can possibly want. These include Frac3, 2D, 3D and 4D skin rejuvenation, hot-sculpting and most other tradenames. Some of these names are just to confuse and impress. The important thing is what the laser can do - not what fancy name the treatment has. In combination or individually, these two Fotona lasers provide an incredible array of options.
Given that our practice is an established and highly respected urogynecology (pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery) practice and because we deal on a routine basis with the most intimate of problems every day, you will really be able to feel confidant that we practice at the highest level of ethics, personal privacy, security and standards.
You now have the option of also having many of your cosmetic needs taken care of in a secure and intimate medical environment.
Some of the new procedures we can now offer include the following:
Pain Conditions (including vulvar and perineal pain - including painful intercourse)
The deep penetration of the ND Yag laser wave makes it ideal for treating all sorts of pain conditions and inflammation. Arthritis, tendonitis, and painful muscle conditions are just some examples of situations where the ND Yag has utility. Like every other treatment available, the response will vary, but because it is completely safe, it could be considered a primary option for treatment. Vulvar and perineal pain (gynecological pain conditions for instance vulvodyna, vestibulitis and dispareunia) are difficult conditions to treat and there is no one treatment that will work for every patient. Many women with these problems have tried every treatment available with no relief. Now, for the first time in a long while, there is something new; laser. This is certainly not standard treatment for these conditions and should be accepted as somewhat experimental, although the principles of why it would work is pretty well understood. I have visited Dr. Adrian Caspar in Mendoza Argentina specifically to learn from him about his approach to these difficult conditions. He has had tremendous results with a combination of ND Yag, Er laser and PRP. Besides, these conditions are so debilitating, and these treatments so safe, that if you are still suffering after all the traditional treatments have failed - what do you have to lose?
In combination with our existing Er-Yag Fotona laser, we are now in a position to offer a complete laser service, with the best laser technology available anywhere in the world.
Not all lasers are the same
Our class four lasers are the best money can buy, will be regularly inspected and maintained and are registered with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta. In contrast, some lasers out in the community are unregistered, unregulated and actually illegal. Here is a link for some some futher material on these amazing lasers and the incredible POWER OF LIGHT.
Please also take note of our addition of PRP (platelet rich plasma) treatment, either as a stand-alone treatment, or (preferably), in combination with laser.
After either vaginal laser or cosmetic skin laser, PRP is used for its nutrient and growth-factor boosting effect on the rejuvenation set in motion by the laser. It really is a one-two punch giving you the most powerful possible effect.
PRP has also been promoted rather aggressively in the gynecology or sexual health area as the 'Vampire™' shot, or the 'O™-shot'. I personally don't like these terms at all, including the fact that the terms have been trademarked, and the resulting price that practitioners offering these techniques charge for something that in reality involve a standard PRP injection. The simple fact however is that injecting PRP around the sensitive areas of the vaginal introitus and clitoris, with the rich nerve supply in these areas is claimed to enhance arousal and orgasms. I make no such claims, and in fact, I've been involved in heated debates about the validity of these claims with some of the main proponents of the procedure. At the very last IUGA (International Urogynecological Association) annual meeting I got into an argument about this very issue during a session. There are individuals who believe this is bad science, 'snake-oil', and exploitation. I agree to a point. Anyone who knows me and has followed my work through the years will testify that I am a staunch defender of the 'right to choose'. Just take a look at the two books I published. If someone wants a procedure and there is a possibility of benefit, and a small possibility of harm, I believe that the request is as valued and valid as any other. What is important are the claims made. I make no claims regarding PRP for sexual function. It is a fact however that thousands of women worldwide believe that it makes a difference and these women ask for the procedure. Since it has an extremely low (negligible in fact) chance of harm, I have no problem with it. PRP is NOT the same as stem cells; lets make that very clear.
IF PRP works for sexual function, even for some women, why NOT? Nothing wrong with an improvement in this domain! In cany case, adding PRP to vaginal laser treatment for any of the other conditions you might need laser for might make a big difference and if there is even a slight chance of improvement of sexual function for some women, I'm definitely supportive of that hope, and your right to not only believe that it works, but your right for access. Just ask me.
