I perform laparoscopic colposacropexy procedures as well as uterine suspensions for uterine prolapse, in the situation where retention of the uterus is important. Laparoscopic repair of prolapse include strengthening both the upper as well as the lower vaginal walls with mesh, curing the enterocele which is commonly present, and securing the vaginal vault (cuff) to the ligament in front of the sacrum, using a soft polypropylene mesh interposed between the two structures.
Some of the other laparoscopic procedures I offer include laparoscopic anterior vaginal wall repair (paravaginal repair). This is an alternative to the commonly performed "anterior repair' which has a high failure rate. I also offer laparoscopic Burch colposuspension ("bladder lift"), although the newer tension free slings have largely replaced this.
